It is expected a thrilling battle of art between Finland and Estonia, where absolutely randomly are faced two young female painters, who aestheticize the loser theme by implementing different codes.
Both Aneri and Elis state that the society is not perfect or human-friendly and the victims can be counted in large amounts. They also agree on the topic of outcasts – there can be detected a standpoint calling for social criticism and aesthetic autonomy. The world vision of both of the artists is conservatism of punk and pop art that mixes left-sidedness and escapism with the respect towards the traditional aesthetics of art history. Behind all of it are reflected large cosmic visions and universal recognitions.

The painting series by Aneri could be called a meditation of the place of unhappy people in artistic expression and in a wider sense in the whole world. The springboard of Aneri searches for autism with which to refresh the established painting dialects. She is strong, sensual and buoyant, depicting the close-to-heart loser theme by painting in bountiful colors and expressive painting manner possessing strong traces of naivism. Aneri's spirited manner of painting does not refer to casting aside, but to adjustment.

The exposition of Elis in ArtDepoo is telling about breaking out of the conventional youth art that is proceeding from escapism, but has no wish to change anything, dealing only with itself and is directed to the group members. The conception of Elis is talking about resistance and the attempt to acquire social standpoints. The object of criticism is medicine exaggerating with antidepressants that is fulfilling the social order for efficient and happy herd of workers.
While comparing with Aneri, who values the strike of the brush pressed in the mass of paint, Elis develops her existentialist themes through symbolism known to us from grotesque and horror movies. She is hiding her critical narratives that are painted in minimalist black and white colors into fantasy bursts.
Themes of the paintings of Elis are connected with women, tranquilizers, depressions, futility of life, false happiness created by drugs, narrowness of a small town. This is not a beautiful and enchanting world to which Elis has attached herself.
