EXHIBITION HALLS IN TALLINN OLD TOWN SINCE 1999
Haus Gallery began its journey in 1997 in the Kadriorg district of Tallinn and has been located in the city’s Old Town since 1999. Today, it is known both as a contemporary art gallery and Estonia’s first auction house. The gallery hosts constantly changing exhibitions, each running for approximately four weeks. The focus is on presenting a comprehensive overview of Estonian art history – from its origins to the present day.
EXHIBITIONS THROUGHOUT THE HISTORY OF ESTONIAN ART – FROM EARLY MODERNISM TO CONTEMPORARY CREATION
The gallery’s visual identity is shaped by carefully curated contemporary art exhibitions that engage in dialogue with society. We showcase various periods and mediums of visual art, including both emerging and established artists, as well as those already regarded as classics. Twice a year – in April and October – all gallery spaces are dedicated to our traditional Estonian art classics auction exhibitions. These auction shows offer an overview of Estonian art history from the early 20th century to today, typically presenting three distinct collections: modernism and older art materpieces, modern classics, and Estonian printmaking. In addition to our regular exhibition program, we also periodically organize smaller, more spontaneous displays, retrospectives, private collection showcases, and collaborations with creative unions. We also curate project-based exhibitions of international art.
EXPERIENCED PERSPECTIVES AND EXPERT COLLABORATIONS
All exhibitions are accompanied by interpretative texts, photos, videos, and podcasts created by the gallery. In addition to Haus Gallery’s gallerist and curator Piia Ausman, well-known Estonian art historians Eero Epner and Heie Marie Treier contribute to the exhibition narratives. The films and podcasts are directed by Nando Grancelli, a seasoned professional with international experience.
Exhibitions are open to the public at the gallery (Uus 17, Tallinn) during opening hours:
