Adamson-Eric 1902–1968 Tallinn. 1939

“Tallinn”, being impetuous and aerial in an impressionistic manner, is one of the two known monotypes by Adamson-Eric. He also tried this technique in 1934 while creating his self-portrait. “Tallinn” is depicting the view of the city from his home window. The artist has painted the same cityscape as an oil painting.
“Tallinn” was exposed at Adamson-Eric’s personal exhibition in Tallinn and in 1962 in Moscow and has been marked into the exhibition catalogue. The work was in the collection of Adamson-Eric, later it was in the collection of Mari Adamson.
