Salome Trei

Salome Trei, one of the favourite artists of Günther Reindorff, came to the fore in the 1930ies mainly as a powerful graphical artist. By choosing simple motifs from the everyday life, her choice was never random. Cactus is here from one side just a pretty object, thrilling in its complicated forms, but for Trei it was a challenge for depiction. Her “deep and delicate relation with the essence” (Mai Levin) becomes clearer, when we see, how carefully Trei has handled the depicted material.
