Endless amounts of flowers on endless number of windows which all have belonged to artists. Almost each creator in the Estonian art history has such pieces that make his/ her continuity intriguing. The cityscape by Agu Pihelga from the studio window joins huge dimensions and a good mood. In spite of the temptation to fill the large surface with architecturally thrilling details, he has regarded of greater importance to create a spacious atmosphere. At the same time Pihelga gives here an insight to the artist’s work environment, continuing the traditional “artist looks out of his window” series of paintings. Pihelga certainly strikes out in the line, where for example prior to him stand Adamson-Eric, Aleksander Vardi and many others. When the abovementioned persons have rather created intimate views, where the window sill is being decorated by several items from the artist’s surroundings, then Pihelga is not afraid to be grand, generalizing and joyful.
