By the 20.century the European painting had lost or was loosing one of the channels that had been one of its main feeding sources – the Christian grounds. Exactly from there had emerged several symbols, which addressed the whole human life as metamorphosis. Among such symbols also fishes played their significant role.
On this still-life the fishes have not been applied by Julius Kleveri as symbols anymore, they are rather a pretext for making a research of different painting tasks. The abundance of colours of the scales, richness of hues, reflection of light – all of this is feeding Klever as the follower of classical painting.
