Johannes Uiga seems to us to have been fixed into the blank ”landscapes”. Still the existing rarity proves that the themes of Uiga covered a wider selection. Here he depicts a motif, being well-known from art history: bathers at water. Naturally Uiga interprets the theme rather as double nudes, but similarily to Valerian Loik, it is not the observation wich is of importance, it is the painting itself which matters. Women, blending into the nature, become while having a look from afar, into carefully chosen colour accents, adding airyness to the work. The idyllic mood is in its turn complemented by the river, which has been painted as a thin layer, glowing through and becoming transparent.
