Otto Paas was due to circumstances forced to paint outside Estonia, because of what his creation has rarely ended up here. Therefore it is complicated to position this work into the context of other works by Paas. Still it is obvious that such views of orchards are for the painters as a rule personal and have been rendered very directly. They lack artificial clamour, an exaggerated applying for ”art”. Instead there is spontaneous joy of the motif and weather, colours and blossoms, the arriving spring and increasing light. No wonder that this is the way art is actually born.
