In this work, painter and graphic artist Jüri Arrak focuses on a familiar motif in his paintings – a lot of people are busy with something that seems important to them, but when you look at it from the outside, from God’s position, everything seems ridiculous. The image is held together by the central image of a tree, depicted in a similar way to Jüri Arrak’s people’s familiar branched vision. Knowing Arrak’s work, a tree is obviously a symbol of something, not just a tree. There is, however, a bit of sky and a low horizon in the work. This leaves a lot of room for reflection for the viewer, or how the work relates to the viewer’s own experience. Jüri Arrak stayed at the forefront of art for decades, being an exceptionally prolific and versatile creator.
