Hugo Mitt

The graphic artist, who worked mainly as a book designer and theatre artist, has drawn Saaremaa here with pastel chalk. The picture overlooks a path hemmed in by low rocky fences and junipers, with trees towering above like gorgeous triumphant arch. The domestic animal standing on the right most likely belongs to the Estonian red cattle breed. Hugo Mitt belongs to a generation that had studied at the Tallinn School of Fine and Applied Art in the 1940s.
