Ernö Koch, who has an interesting biography and is somewhat exceptional in our art history, has depicted a windmill in drypoint technique - in cloudy weather typical of the climate in Estonia, probably in Saaremaa, which is hinted at by the stone garden in the foreground. The Hungarian graphic artist Ernö Koch came to Tallinn in 1926 and emigrated to Hungary, Bavaria and then to the USA in 1940. During the Estonian period, he depicted city views and did several commissioned works.
