Nikolai Kummits
(1897 - 1944)
In the Kitchen. 1930s
Oil, canvas. 61 x 76 cm (framed)
price 9 900
The kitchen has always been a meaningful gathering place where, in addition to practical cooking, there are also sittings, gatherings, conversations and other social networking events. Nikolai Kummits is also fascinated by the certain scarcity of farm kitchens with little food and people on the hunchback. The ghost often tried to convey the states of mind of the people in a state of existential tension by depicting them in a miserable environment. However, this painting can also be viewed as an ethnographic document, where the abundance of details and the mood well convey an entire era.
