It is probably tulips, but this time they have been painted analytically, the artist seems to be studying their growth and attachment to the stem and their soul life. The overall effect of the painting is amazingly powerful and empowering, due to the clear drawing base and few chosen colors. The opposite colors blue and orange enhance each other.
Priit Pangsepp belongs to the artistic life of Tartu, but more specifically, together with his artist friends Ilmar Kruusamäe, Peeter Allik and Albert Gulgi, he also belongs to the Kursi school. This group, founded in 1988, sought to counterbalance the internationalization gaining momentum in the Estonian art world at any cost, reminding the public that smaller rural areas can be our own local humus, from which valuable art sprouts. In fact, the Kurs school even has an exhibition in Venice.
