Paul Kormašov is a painter who lives and works in Berlin. He graduated from the Pallas Art School in Tartu in 2013 and has been working as a freelance artist ever since. Kormašov is the youngest member of artists family that shares his name. However, this has not prevented him from developing a distinctive and personal style, which is among the most recognizable in the young Estonian art scene. Kormašov achieves this by combining seemingly contradictory qualities — his works are both abstract and thoroughly painted, while also showcasing a highly refined sense of color. As a result, his abstract art, which ranges from tonal to vividly colorful, often features figurative elements such as urban landscapes and various motifs from life and nature. Kormašov’s layered paintings often contain both humorous and emotional reflections, which are further illuminated by his thoughtful titles. He has held several solo exhibitions and regularly participates in group shows in both Estonia and Germany. His works are included in numerous collections around the world.
