Haus Gallery's Spring 2021 auctions were a great success, even becoming a record in Estonian art history. During two days 113 artworks from the 19th century up until 2019 were open for bidding and 110 of them were sold with final prices rising over the initial price 3 to 10 times on 100 artworks from the selection. The turnover from two auctions reached over one million euros which has never before happened at Estonian art auctions. Over 100 participants joined the auction.

The artworks with the highest increase comparing to initial prices were "Old Fisherman" by Evald Okas (58 000 EUR), "Window View" by Tiit Pääsuke (45 000), "Very Red Flower" by Olev Subbi (35 500), "In the Summer" by Peeter Mudist (33 000), "Still Life With a Cat" by Aleksander Vardi and "Landscape With Herd" by Juhan Püttsepp (both 30 200 EUR).

Haus Gallery's head curator Piia Ausman emphasizes the modern classics' auction especially, with all artworks presented for bidding being sold and many works reaching final prices over 30 000 EUR. It is extremely important for Haus Gallery to have a feel for its time and its rhythms, being dedicated to the work the gallery does on an everyday basis.

Haus Gallery started with art auctions in 1997, about 25 years ago. One auction's end means the beginning of another for us, so the gallery is now preparing for Fall and offering other wonderful art experiences in the meantime. We have recently opened new exhibitions.

Stay tuned for more art!
