Hando Mugasto was in spite of his early death able to become a very remarkable artist, whose works were noticed and marked by every art exhibition critic. As the student of Wiiralt and Vabbe in “Pallas”, Mugasto acquired quickly and thoroughly outstanding graphic artist’s abilities and a lot was talked about the lino cuts of only 17-year-old Mugasto as a precocious and extremely talented artist. His creation is characterized by variety of themes and quite ponderous and archaic style. Only a few of Mugasto’s monotypes are known and these originate mainly from the end of the 1920ies and beginning of the 1930ies. His “Landscape” joins brightness of colours that is unexpected in case of a graphic artist and typical Hando Mugasto-style of theme choice. A farmer, cart and horse, home road, farm houses and nature formed a harmonious integer for Mugasto. He never let it go.
