An empirically painted view of nature as close to reality as possible in typical Estonian weather instills peace and familiarity. In the foreground, one can also little see a limestone cliff, which the weather is trying to crumble. Limestone, from which the houses of Tallinn’s Old Town have been built and which has lasted for centuries in architecture, may also prove fragile under certain conditions. Jaan Tuuling worked as an art teacher and painter.
