Abstract visuals with intertwined structures are very much a work of the style of Andrus Kasemaa (not to be confused with the writer of the same name). The artist loved the spontaneity that was best suited to him by drawing directly on large formats, which is more solidly formalised by a lithograph-sized graphic sheet here. The colour combination has been hidden as a blue-black-and-white message, a banned tricolour as of 1980. Andrus Kasemaa acted somewhat as the promoter of Tartu’s artistic life, directing the Art Cabinet of the University of Tartu from 1974 to 1993, an opportunity for agile young people to make their own art and communicate with their kind. Expressive in both personality and art, Andrus Kasemaa gathered art innovation around him.
