In the modestly colored painting, a flower blossom is highlighted as a dominant figur, which simultaneously decorates both the violin and the young woman. A flower is therefore not only a flower, but hints at the artist's assessment of what is depicted. The work as a whole is painted abstractly, but in the middle of the abstract sorrounding we see a picture within a picture, which is represented figuratively. The abstract part serves as a highlighter and emphasis of the figurative part.
Uno Roosvalt, through his wife the painter Mari Roosvalt, belongs to a large multi-generational dynasty of artists in which the father figure has been academician Evald Okas. Painting mostly traditional peaceful scenes and beach landscapes, Uno Roosvalt has his own audience and supporters.
